I stayed at the Yarrow Hotel & Conference Center, while covering the FIS Freestyle World Cup and this centrally-located hotel complex in the heart of Park City was an ideal location. The hotel is situated on the corner of Park Ave. and Kearns Blvd. in the heart of the city with a great view of the Park City Ski Resort. At the Yarrow, you are only a few miles from Deer Valley and a few miles from the Canyons. This is a perfect place to stay during your visit to Park City and this hotel provides easy access to all the attractions Park City has to offer including shopping, dining, and night life.
My ground-floor 300 sq. ft. studio had a king-size bed, fireplace and kitchenette with stove, microwave, sink, dishes, pots, pans and utensils, which prompted me to do a little cooking and save some money. All the rooms in the hotel have: wireless internet, refrigerator, flat screen TV, coffee maker, heat & air conditioning, travel size toiletries, hair dryer, iron and board, and an electronic safe.
The 181-room hotel offers 24-hour front desk guest services, staffed by cheerful employees that were very helpful during my stay. If skiing all day isn’t enough to tire you out, there is a fitness center adjacent to the year round heated outdoor pool and hot tub, located in the central courtyard.
The Yarrow has deluxe rooms with one king or two queen-size beds and studios with two double beds. They have 640 sq. ft. deluxe suites with a king-size bed, separate living area, queen sofa sleeper, kitchenette, fireplace, and jetted tub. In addition, there are Executive Suite rooms and conference rooms to meet your business needs. Many of the rooms have balconies with great mountain views and all the rooms are non-smoking. The Yarrow also provides accommodations for disabled guests.
The hotel is only a short walk across a large parking lot to a very large supermarket where I was able to pick up some groceries which allowed me to cook dinner in my studio. For those of you that aren’t interested in cooking, the hotel houses the Mountain Grill offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for a reasonable price. In addition, there is a Starbucks kiosk and a sports pub, the Skyline Bar, featuring specialty sports channels that serves appetizers and light meals.
You can take the shuttle from the airport to the Yarrow use the free bus service in Park City. If you prefer to use a car, Enterprise Car Rental is located on-site. In addition, the hotel has a Business Center, ski and snowboard rental with storage, concierge, bell service, safety deposit boxes, valet laundry service and guest laundry to meet your every need.
Room rates start at $129 and up. To make a reservation for your next ski trip, call (800) 927-7694 or (435) 649-7000 and tell them that you read about them on-line in the Ski Bum News.
